The Yorenka Tasorentsi Institute was envisioned by the spiritual and political leader, and winner of the 2017 UN Equator Prize, Benki Piyãko. It serves as a center for reforestation, education, cultural exchange and healing. The Boa Foundation helped lay the groundwork of this dream by acquiring 3,773 acres of land, of which 1,483 acres were deforested and are currently being restored. In less than a year, approximately 150,000 native trees have been planted. The center will have a 400 person capacity, and from its official opening in July 2020 will receive participants to learn, heal, exchange and plant trees.

This is an ongoing project which we will continue to support through to its completion, and we are excited and proud to see the first stages in action.
