The Yawanawa were never a nomadic people. They lived in their ancestral home since time immemorial -until the missionaries came and forced them to move away and live differently. The Yawanawa have fought tirelessly to keep their culture alive, and now they are strong and growing. After decades in exile, The Boa Foundation secured funding to rebuild their entire village and a new temple, so they may once again return to the place where their ancestors are buried, renewing their sacred sites and returning home.

This project is still active.
